Debra Satterfield

Professor and Chair, Department of Design, California State University, Long Beach

Debra is Professor and Chair of the Design Department at California State University, Long Beach. Her research focuses on service design for social inclusion, design for behavioral change, and design for neurodiversity, equity, and accessibility. She is currently developing The Divergency Model, a framework for evaluating perceived risk and conformity among UX/AI target audiences relative to cultural norms.

Professor Satterfield serves as an Ambassador for the International Society of Service Innovation Professionals (ISSIP), where she leads the ISSIP AI Collab, an academic–industry initiative connecting professionals, students, and universities. She also serves on the academic advisory board of the Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD) and the scientific advisory board for the Human Side of Service Engineering (HSSE).

She integrates industry engagement into her courses, partnering with professionals to enhance the practical value of design education. Her collaborations include projects with ISSIP, Frito-Lay, the Knowledge Encounter Research (KER) Group, and the American College Health Association.

Marco Vespignani

Naturopathic Doctor | Integrative Neurology & Chronic Care Specialist

Marco was voted Seattle Top Doctor in 2011 in recognition of his clinical excellence. He is a board-certified Naturopathic Doctor at Seattle Integrative Medicine, specializing in complex neurological and chronic conditions through an integrative and patient-centered approach.

Marco earned his Bachelor’s degree in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Hawaii, where his study of ecology and the human role within natural systems inspired his pursuit of natural medicine. He went on to complete his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University in 2004, followed by a residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health in Seattle.

In 2006, Marco co-founded and operated an integrative multidisciplinary clinic in Davis, California, gaining extensive experience in neurology and family medicine. His commitment to advancing the naturopathic profession led to his appointment as Clinic Director for the STAIR Residency Program in 2009—one of only two such programs nationwide at the time.

As CEO of The Mobilize Network, he guides Fortune 1000 enterprises worldwide in building innovative, high-performance cultures by driving change, building value, and eliminating waste. He helped develop foundational methods that connect human potential, digital systems, and enterprise performance—principles central to AHP’s mission.

Chauncey is among a distinguished group of practitioners and academics in this field including Fernando Flores, Terry Winograd (Stanford Professor of Computer Science), Robert Solomon (University of Texas Professor of Philosophy and Business Ethics), Hubert Dreyfus (UC Berkeley Professor of Continental Philosophy), Humberto Maturana, and Francisco Varela (Biology and Neurophysiology).

Michael Hoffman

Founding Principal at H+dlT Collaborative

Michael is a Founding Principal of H+dlT Collaborative, an architecture firm now in its 22nd year with offices in Seattle, Washington; Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; and Hailey, Idaho. An Ohio native and graduate of The Ohio State University, Michael represents the second generation in his family to practice architecture. Before founding H+dlT, he worked in his father’s firm near Cleveland, later relocating to Seattle in the mid-1990s.

Michael’s hands-on construction background, strong project management expertise, and collaborative leadership style guide successful projects from design through construction.

Outside of architecture, Michael is an avid distance cyclist and sailor, deeply engaged in community service. He volunteers with organizations including Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center, Shilshole Bay Yacht Club, Footloose Sailing Association, Cascade Bicycle Club, and Crush Kids Cancer Guild at Seattle Children’s Hospital. He currently serves as Board President for Sound Experience, operating the schooner Adventuress on the Salish Sea, and contributes to the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce Housing and Water Development Task Force. He believes in actively making the world a better place—together.

Samantha Haney

Samantha Haney is a learning designer and strategist who’s been reimagining how people learn, connect, and thrive for more than 30 years. Her work lives at the intersection of technology, education, and inclusion—where systems meet the human spirit.

As founder and CEO of a tech-based education company for two decades, Sam built learning platforms that didn’t just deliver knowledge—they fostered belonging. Today, through her consulting practice, she partners with organizations to design environments that flex and evolve with people’s changing needs.

Her portfolio spans digital accessibility, instructional design, and age-friendly housing—each project grounded in the belief that the best systems are intuitive, adaptable, and kind.
