Adaptable House

Live Life at Maximum Freedom
Rethink the Possible
Adaptable House Project
Help the Human Condition.
Help the Most Amount of People.
We Merge the Human with the Home.
A twofold solution to problems of movement and well-being of physically challenged and aging people:
1) Create an environment of adaptable features that serve individual needs as they evolve.
2) Design all features of that space to be beautiful and life-affirming.
The features create a FUNCTIONAL house
It supports confidence, ease and movement
It is surprising, it is progressive and it is useful
It enhances, it educates and it ‘make’s better’
We are serving families, care givers, the aging and the disabled
A Fresh Perspective
Turbocharging Rejuvenation and Rehabilitation in Daily Life:
The Adaptable House Project (AHP) redefines how we live — promoting lifelong dignity, emotional health, and well-being. It is about changing thoughts, changing expectations, changing outcomes.

The Adaptable House features create an interactive, responsive home that adjusts to the moods, energy, and physical capabilities of its resident — therapeutically, emotionally, and energetically. The home “comes to life” to assist its occupant while easing the burden on caregivers and family members who often struggle to know how best to provide support.

Through thoughtful design and intuitive function, the Adaptable House encourages confidence, independence, and social engagement — helping residents flourish and live their highest-quality life. Every feature can be integrated into new or existing homes.

Unlike traditional accessibility solutions, AHP integrated features accommodate the user — not the other way around. It honors strengths, not limitations, creating an environment that empowers rather than highlights disability.
The power of AHP lies in its ability to nurture and inspire. These insights and innovations come directly from founder Mary Meyer’s personal experience — both physical and emotional — making this project not just visionary, but profoundly human.

Origin of the Adaptable House
Mary Meyer’s life work has centered on understanding what the body and mind need to thrive. As a distinguished competitive athlete, personal trainer, triathlon producer, and coach, her world has evolved into a new mission after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis —transforming how people with physical challenges — and anyone navigating the realities of aging — live at home.

While researching home accessories that could improve her quality of life, Mary discovered that true accessibility is not an afterthought — the features of the home itself need to be designed with the changing body in mind.

She envisioned a living environment that supports mobility, emotional well-being, and physical health — even in the face of disease or aging. To bring this vision to life, Mary gathered a team of innovators and founded a nonprofit organization to serve as the hub for this groundbreaking approach: The Adaptable House.
Evolution of the Adaptable House
How a Need Became a Movement
Mary Meyer’s need became a movement — one that brings quality of life and hope into each day. The vision: a lifestyle, not just a place to live.
What if a house could promote health, optimism, and self-reliance? What if it could support healthy aging and longevity — beautifully designed, simple to use, and adaptable for all?

The answer is The Adaptable House Project (AHP) — an environment that enhances human potential instead of limiting it, treating the whole person rather than the disease or condition.
Its interiors inspire us to “use it, not lose it” — physically, cognitively, behaviorally, and even nutritionally.

AHP is redefining what is possible for in-home living — for anyone aging, living with physical challenges, or facing degenerative conditions. This structure of wellness serves all people, regardless of age, size, ability, or health status.
Through a coordinated effort of experts and innovators, AHP delivers accessible adaptability, empowerment, and movement — creating homes that truly evolve with us.
